Help Us Invest in the Future of Live Music & Community
at Haw River Ballroom
For nearly 15 years, Haw River Ballroom has been a gathering place.
A former Dye House turned riverside music hall.
An independently run, woman-owned venue.
A home for touring artists, local musicians, weddings, makers markets, and community celebrations.
From nationally touring acts to Saturdays in Saxapahaw, from the Holiday Market to beautiful weddings — this room has held thousands of moments that matter.
Now, we need your help to protect the heart of it all: the sound.
Our Goal is $XXX,XXX
We are raising $XXX,XXX to purchase and install a new, state-of-the-art sound system that will serve Haw River Ballroom for the next decade and beyond.
Every contribution - large or small - helps us to keep live music in Saxapahaw and to support our community.
Why We’re Asking
Our sound system has faithfully carried this room for years. It has powered countless shows and brought artists and audiences together in a way that feels intimate, clear, and alive.
But like any well-used instrument, it has reached a point where it needs significant replacement and upgrades.
To continue hosting the level of artists, events, and community gatherings that Saxapahaw deserves, we must invest in a new, professionally installed sound system.
This is essential infrastructure for our venue.
Without it, we risk limiting the kind of performances we can host and the quality of experience we can provide.
What This Investment Means
A new sound system will:
Ensure exceptional audio quality for touring artists and local bands
Preserve the intimate listening experience Haw River is known for
Support weddings, conferences, and community events
Strengthen our ability to remain a destination venue in North Carolina
Keep live music flowing through Saxapahaw for years to come
We are currently finalizing the full scope of costs. Our needs will exceed $100,000. A detailed breakdown will be shared transparently as we complete vendor estimates and engineering plans.
Help Us Keep Giving Back
In the summer of 2025, after Tropical Storm Chantal flooded Saxapahaw,
Haw River Ballroom became a site of organizing and support. We opened our doors to help coordinate cleanup and relief efforts for neighbors and small businesses.
We have always believed that this space belongs to the community.
We run on geothermal and solar power.
We pay living wages.
We pride ourselves in being a safe space for many.
We bring artists from around the world to a rural river town — and we bring people together in ways that ripple outward.
Now, we are asking our community to show up for us in return.
Please give what you can.
Share our campaign with people you know that love this space - whether they’ve attended a show here, got married here, played here or experienced how magical and beautiful the Ballroom is.
Help us protect the sound of this place. This isn’t just a venue. It’s the sound of Saxapahaw.
